  • Objectives

This Department implements several welfare programmes for the socio-economic development of the Adi Dravidar and Scheduled Tribes in the State. Apart from formulating programmes so as to end the social seclusion and economic deprivation of Adi dravidars and Scheduled Tribes through educational development, the objectives of these programmes are also to speed up the process of integrating them with the national main stream.

          Among various social sector programmes implemented by the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, education occupies the prime place as it reforms the society at greater level. Besides this, various other welfare programmes like distribution of house site patta’s and construction of houses and provision of basic amenities like laying of roads, burial pathway, community hall, burial ground and pathway to burial ground, street lights, supply of drinking water etc. are also taken up as part of the social development programmes. Removal of untouchably and to prevent activities against Adi Dravidar and Scheduled Tribes.

1 Post Matric Scholarship Scheme

This Scheme is being provided to enable students studying above class 10 to continue their education without financial constraints and to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio.

The Expenditure incurred for the implementation of this scheme is shared by the Union and State Governments in the ration of 60;40

To avail  scholarship under this scheme the annual income of the parent / guardian should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh

2 Pre-Matric Scholarship For SC and others

Pre-matric scholarship for students studying in IX and X std and for children of those Parents engaged in unclean occupation and occupation involving cleaning and prone to health hazards are implanted as a single scheme from the year 2022-2023

3 Special incentive to girl Students

9 Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jati Abhyuday Yojana (PMAGY)

This scheme is to ensure integrated development of the selected villages with more than 40% of Scheduled caste population so funds are allocated by the Government of India so that there is adequate infrastructure and improvement in socio-economic indicators as part of various sectors.

The scheme is implemented in villages who where living more than40% of Adi Dravidar District Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer / Project Officer  , Rural Development Agency
10 Special Central Assistance to Scheduled castes Sub plan (SCA TO SCSP)

The Government of India is providing Special Central Assistance, as a supplementary grant to the Scheduled castes sub plan of the State to  enhance infrastructural facilities, facilitate family income generating schemes, encourage economic development and provide slill development.

It is being implemented with 100 per cent contribution for the construction of Girls hostel building and 50 per cent contribution for Boys Hostel

This  scheme is implemented in Adi Dravidar Welfare Hostels Only District Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer / District Manager, TAHDCO
11 Financial Assistance for Best Writers

Sanction of  Financial Assistance of Rs.1,00,000/- for Best Writers as per G.O.No.49, Adi Dravidar and Tribal (sep) Dept Date.23.06.2022

The best 10 writers / author from Adi Dravidar / Scheduled Tribes and Adi Dravidar converted to Christianity will be selected to award the prize.

The Selected best writers will be awarded Rs.1,00,000/- for their writings

Each Vandhan Vikas kendhra (VDVK) will be created by forming 10 self help Groups under tribal leadership.

    • For the year 2022-2023 , Kolakanatham Village, Alathur Taluk is selected and given basic facilities to improve the needs of People in that village. Rs. 10,00,000/- is given for the development of the village
    • For the year 2022-2023 , Development of Burial Grounds and  basic amenities to burial grounds  are Provided for all the Adi Dravidar . Rs.10,00,000/- is provided for  Perambalur District ,  Perambalur Taluk, Elambalur Village of Adi Dravidar  and for the development of Burial Grounds, Vilamuthor Village from Perambalur Taluk is provided  Rs.7,64,035/-  to the basic amentities.  2022-2023 academic year 104 Sewing machine is Provided for Adi Dravidar People of Rs.6,96,020/- and given for the village of Rs.7,64,035/-
    • The Scheduled castes and scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Rules 1995 have been ameded by the Government of India . In Perambalur District for the year 2022-2024,   the prevention of Atocities Act , 92 Adi Dravidar are choosen and provided of Rs.65,13,999/-
    •  In the year 2022-2023 , 1773  Adi Dravidar students  studying in  hostels where  provided Mat and many other things for each students .
    • For the year 2022-2023 , Cycles are distributed to  the students belonging to Adi Dravidar and Scheduled Tribes community
