By organizing functions like world Book day, Organizing different competitions for school students , Book exhibitions “National Noolagavaaravizha” etc… creating awareness about the benefits of libraries among the general public including students community.

In District central library the following sections are functioning for readers. The working hours of District Central Library are 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM.

Awards and Achievements

In Order to encourage the librarians working in libraries and to promote the number of library members and patrons, library development activitiesconducted every year during “National library week”, “Dr.S.R.AranganathanVirudhu” given to the best librarians who have acquiring vacant land and rent free building for the usage of libraries, and enrolled more number of members & patrons in the libraries & getting donation articles like chair, table, book rack and etc., from public for library usage and organizing various library awareness programs to increase reading habit among students.The award consists of cash award of Rs.5000/- a certificate and silver medal.

Noolaga Aarvalar Virudhu

Every year during “National Libraryweek “NoolagaAarvalarVirudhu” were given to the best Readers Forum” of the libraries which perform well in the libraries developmental activitiesby,getting donation articles like chair, table, book rack etc., from the public and organizing various library awareness programs like, conducting book exhibitions, rallies, medical camps, to increase reading habit among the public. The award consists of a Shield and Certificate.

Per day more than 100 students were using the District Central library.A separate section functioning for the use of students who have preparing for the competitive examinations like, TNPSC, (Group 1 to IV service) UPSC, RRB& Banking examination. During the year 2022 – 23 27students got selected for various posts under TNPSC group examinations.
