The foundation stone for the construction of a new building for the Government Arts and Science College was laid and the work was inaugurated under the leadership of the District Collector on 19.09.2025

In Perambalur District, under Alathur Panchayat Union, a new building for the Government Arts and Science College at Kollakkanatham is to be constructed at a cost of ₹1 crore from the Constituency Development Fund of Kunnam MLA and Honorable Minister for Transport and Electricity, Thiru S. S. Sivasankar. The foundation stone for the construction was laid and the work was inaugurated today (19.09.2025) under the leadership of District Collector tmt. N. Mirunalini, I.A.S..(PDF 38KB)
